Music therapist Pippa Rous provides two days of music therapy each week through Nordoff
& Robbins. Music is used as a dynamic and creative tool to facilitate emotional expression,
communication, and developmental processes with children of all ages. As relationships
builds between the therapist, child, and music – music itself becomes a medium for
therapeutic connection and personal growth. Whether it’s through improvisation, vocalising,
playing instruments, or using music technology, each session focuses on uncovering
musical potential and discovering capacity for growth through music. Pippa supports each
child to find their own voice and connections to others, fostering not only creative expression
but also social and emotional development, and opportunities to build resilience and self-
esteem.

Beyond her work in SEN settings, Pippa also works with young people in the youth justice
system, SEMH (social emotional and mental health) education and facilitates a singing
project for individuals living with chronic pain.

Pippa is committed to supporting students of all ages and backgrounds in their journey
toward emotional well-being, personal development, and a deeper sense of connection to
themselves, others, and their relationships to music.

In her spare time, Pippa enjoys practising yoga, trying new foods, and playing with her
energetic cats Dante and Benny.
