What will my child be learning in the 2023-2024 school year?

During his or her time at Bamburgh School, your child will be following an individual pathway through each curriculum subject, depending on his or her aptitudes and abilities.

To find out what your child will be studying, first use the list below to find out which Stage (for primary classes) or Year (for secondary classes) your child’s class is working at, and also the Pathway for your child’s class (there are 3 possible pathways: Core, Core+ or Core++).

Orchid Class is following the EY Curriculum for all subjects.
Maple Class is following the Stage 1 Core pathway for all subjects, with adaptations as necessary.
Daisy Class is following the Stage 1 Core + pathway for all subjects.
Holly Class is following the Stage 3 Core pathway for all subjects.
Honeysuckle Class is following the Stage 4 Core pathway for all subjects.
Cedar Class is following the Stage 6 Core pathway for all subjects.
Mulberry Class is following the Stage 6 Core pathway for all subjects.
Hawthorn Class is following the Stage 3 Core pathway for all subjects.
8LM is following the Stage 5 Core pathway for all subjects except Maths, where it is following Year 8 Core.
NJS is following the Stage 7 Core pathway for all subjects except Maths, where it is following Year 8 Core.
7ZD is following the Y7 Core pathway for all subjects.
7LL is following The Y7 Core+ pathway for all subjects.
8KF is following the Y8 Core pathway for all subjects.
8CB is following the Y8 Core+ pathway for all subjects.
9HE is following the Y9 Core pathway for all subjects.
9ST is following Year 9 Core + pathway for all subjects except Maths, where it is following the Y9 Core ++ pathway.

In Years 10 and 11, pathways for individual pupils are linked to the final exam that he or she is working towards in each subject area, and not to the class group.
