A number of pupils recently attended a South Shields FC match as part of an exciting Matchday Experience against Merthyr Town. The visit provided a fantastic opportunity for the children to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of live football, supporting the team and learning more about the game. A highlight of the day saw 12 pupils take on the special role of flag bearers, proudly welcoming the players onto the pitch before kick-off. This memorable experience not only boosted their confidence but also gave them a unique behind-the-scenes glimpse into matchday traditions.
Our Primary Lead, Mrs Baxendale decided the time was now right to retire and left us at the end of the summer, to go on to her next adventure.
Our children have been incredibly fortunate to have such a wonderful professional guiding them through their primary journey. Her care, wisdom, and kindness have helped countless pupils navigate the challenges of their early education with confidence and enthusiasm.
While we will deeply miss her expertise and support, we will miss the person behind the role even more. We wish her all the best in this next exciting chapter of her life. Thank you, Mrs. Baxendale, for everything—we will miss you.

Jessica Bootes, received this year’s South Tyneside Unsung Hero award. Well done Jessica!
Last summer work began on revamping a little summerhouse in our Early Years play area which was looking a tired and lacked a purpose. We enlisted the help of volunteers from Sage UK, who have developed a really positive and lasting relationship with our school.
We are pleased that the team managed to complete the groundwork by the end of the summer, creating a warmer and clearer space, complete with flooring and shelving and a lick of paint. All of this has meant that Mrs O’Neill and her team can add some finishing touches, which we will share when the work is complete.
A massive thank you for all the hard work this team continues to do.

Bamburgh recently became a Times Tables Rock Star Silver School.
Times Tables Rock Stars is a maths programme that takes all the worry out of learning times tables. We have been working with Time Tables Rock Star for 3 years and are happy to receive this new award.
